A workshop to validate the Updated Pollution Special Study

On the 12th -13th December 2014, The Secretariat of Lake Tanganyika Authority (LTA) organized a workshop to validate the updated Pollution Special Study on the Lake Tanganyika. The workshop was held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and brought together experts from the Lake Tanganyika riparian countries

In fact, the purpose of the meeting was to analyze the report on the Special Study on Pollution conducted by an international consultant and make observations to guide the consultant.

Indeed a study on pollution of Lake Tanganyika was conducted between 1998 and 2000 by the Lake Tanganyika riparian countries. By then, many changes have occurred from this time to date and it was necessary to update the Study. That is in this context that the Lake Tanganyika Authority recruited an international consultant to conduct a Study on Pollution of Lake Tanganyika.

During two days, experts from the Lake Tanganyika riparian countries analyzed the document and made observations that will help the consultant to finalize the report on the Study.
