In Zambia, LTA activities are implemented by the Zambia NCU.
This report covers the activities conducted by NCU Zambia from January to December 2013. During the period under review the key activities recorded were: infrastructure developments under LDF, Audit for the 2011 and 2012 financial years, attending the 6th Conference of Ministers meeting and PRODAP close up activities following the decline by the Bank to grant an applied for extension for 18 months. Other activities include meetings PDCC and DDCC, Including Steering committee meetings and monitoring community contributions to infrastructure. It also covers the challenges experienced and recommendations on the way forward.
The overall objective of the project was to contribute to poverty reduction in the Lake basin. More specifically, it aimed at improving food security and the living conditions of the population of the Tanganyika basin through proper co-management of the Lake resources. The sector goal of the project was to contribute to poverty reduction in the Lake Tanganyika basin. More specifically, the project aimed at (i) improving social and health conditions in the Lake Tanganyika basin, and (ii) improving the food security situation of the people.
