Lake Tanganyika Authority Secretariat of the (LTAS), a Regional Intergovernmental Organization comprising Republic of Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, United Republic of Tanzania, and Republic of Zambia, informs the public that it is launching a call for tenders to recruit a consultant/firm to carry out the feasibility study on dredging of the Lukuga River, in order to inform decision-makers and address the spectacular rise in the water levels of Lake Tanganyika.
The overall objective is to ‘carry out a comprehensive feasibility study to assess the relevance, viability, impacts and implementation modalities of dredging the Lukuga River, as well as to demonstrate its influence on the spectacular rise in water levels of Lake Tanganyika’.
The publication date of the ToR is June 12, 2025.
Closing date for submissions is June 26, 2025.
