The Convention was signed by four riparian countries that share a common interest in the conservation and equitable use of Lake Tanganyika resources. These countries are The Republic of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the United Republic of Tanzania, the Republic of Zambia. They are also called “The Contracting States.”
