Jean Pierre Niyongabo is a multilingual Teacher, Translator and Interpreter with 15 years of experience in national and international schools, as well as in translation and interpreting services within regional and international organizations.
He is currently serving as a Translator/Interpreter at the Lake Tanganyika Authority (LTA). At the LTA, he is responsible for translating a wide range of institutional and technical documents between English and French, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistent terminology in areas such as sustainable fisheries management, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation, and environmental protection.
He also provides both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during workshops, official meetings, and regional events, facilitating effective multilingual communication among the LTA team, experts, policymakers, and development partners.
He holds a B.A. from the Institute for Applied Pedagogy, English Department, at the University of Burundi in Bujumbura, complemented by several professional trainings.
