A team of experts from the Contracting States of the Lake Tanganyika Authority carried out a field mission to Kalemie in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the Lukuga River, the outlet of Lake Tanganyika. The objective of the mission was to identify the probable factors of this spectacular rise in the water level of Lake Tanganyika. The conclusions of that field mission were presented on Monday, July 12, 2021, in a workshop organized in Bujumbura
For the in-depth analysis of the spectacular rise of the waters of Lake Tanganyika, whose consequences are incalculable, a delegation led by Mr. Tusanga Mukanga Sylvain, Executive Director of the Lake Tanganyika Authority has undertaken a field mission to Kalemie.
This is official. The Lake Tanganyika Authority has launched the Lake Tanganyika Fisheries Management project, LATAFIMA.
On 03th November 2020, Mr KWIBISA LIYWALII joined officially the secretariat team of the Lake Tanganyika Authority as the new Director of Monitoring and Evaluation. He is representing the Republic of Zambia within this organization. We wish him all the best in his work.
The ninth ordinary meeting of the Management Committee and eighth Conference of Ministers of the Lake Tanganyika Authority, started on Tuesday, February 11 and ended on February 14 2020.
