The Latafima or Lake Tanganyika Fisheries Management project is funded by the European Union. The overall objective is to strengthen equitable economic growth by promoting sustainable fishing in Lake Tanganyika. The specific objectives are to support the sustainable management and development of fisheries and to reduce/eliminate illegal fishing in the Lake through the strengthening of the monitoring system.
